StoryGraph vs Goodreads

Goodreads is owned by Amazon. Amazon is owned by Jeff Bezos. Jeff Bezos is worth $230 billion right now. Amazon is…Amazon.

Those facts in themselves are enough for me to abandon Goodreads.

But the platform itself is also clunky. Too many clicks to update reading progress or add a book to my bookshelf.

Enter StoryGraph.

StoryGraph is female/minority founded and owned.

That in itself is enough for me to adopt StoryGraph in place of Goodreads.

But the StoryGraph creator doesn’t want that to be why people use her app.

Which is fine. Because y’all. It’s also SO much better than any other app I’ve tried, including Goodreads.

Reading progress updates right on the home page.

Giveaways are also right on the home screen.

And you can import your Goodreads history straight into StoryGraph. So you don’t lose all those years of book history.

Bonus? StoryGraph has an entire tab dedicated to charts and metrics about reading habits and genres. For those of us who geek out about that kind of thing.

And there’s a cool recommendation feature based on a survey you can take and based on your recent reads. Because, you know, I need more books…

So, if you’re looking for a really excellent way to track your reading, because you’ve been known to purchase the same book multiple times, because you can’t keep track, or remember what you’ve already read, check it out: https://thestorygraph.com/
